Room Additions & Home Extensions
Bedroom suites, family rooms, Florida rooms and home extensions planned around your lot, your permits and the way your family lives.
Stuart is home base for HBS Custom Renovation. We plan and deliver room additions, sunrooms, built-ins, outdoor kitchens, stonework and renovations across the city and its waterfront neighborhoods.
Stuart's housing ranges from 1950s and 1960s block homes near downtown to newer homes in gated communities and condos across the river on Hutchinson Island. Many of the older homes have great lots and locations but small rooms, one bathroom too few, or a closed floor plan. That is where a room addition or a custom renovation makes the biggest difference.
Waterfront homes along the St. Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon get the most use out of outdoor space, so enclosed lanais, screened porches and decks and outdoor kitchens are common requests. Inside, homeowners ask for built-ins, media walls and new railings that make an older house feel current, and stone veneer that gives a plain stucco front some character.
A Stuart mailing address does not always mean the City of Stuart. Homes inside city limits are permitted through the City of Stuart's building department, while many Stuart addresses in Port Salerno, Rio and other unincorporated areas are permitted through the Martin County Building Department. The difference affects zoning rules, setbacks and review times, so we confirm the jurisdiction for your property at the start. Homes in flood zones near the river and lagoon may also have elevation requirements for additions.
Condo owners on Hutchinson Island and in downtown Stuart deal with association approvals, set work hours, elevator reservations and flooring sound rules. We review those requirements before scheduling so the renovation runs smoothly with your association and neighbors.
Home & Beyond Services has served Stuart since 2021. The owner picks up the phone, crews show up when they say they will, and you get a detailed scope and clear price before work starts.
It depends on the parcel, not the mailing address. We look up your property during the consultation so the project is permitted with the right building department.
Yes. We work across the Stuart area, including island condos and homes in nearby towns, and confirm each town's permit and association rules before work is scheduled.
Usually, yes. Older block homes often have room on the lot for an addition. Setbacks, flood zone and septic capacity decide the size and placement, and we check those first.
