Custom Built-ins, Cabinets & Finish Carpentry

Built-in cabinets, shelving, media walls, accent walls, railings and trim that fit your rooms exactly, because they were designed for them.

Carpentry made for your rooms

Store-bought furniture rarely fits the odd wall beside a fireplace, the space under a staircase or a room with sliding glass doors on two sides. Custom built-ins do. HBS Custom Renovation designs and builds cabinetry and finish carpentry for homes and condos across Stuart, Palm City, Port St. Lucie and the rest of the Treasure Coast, sized to the inch and finished to match your home.

What we build

  • Built-in cabinets and shelving for living rooms, offices, mudrooms, laundry rooms and closets.
  • Media walls and entertainment centers, including slat walls with planned TV and wiring locations.
  • Accent walls: vertical slat walls, geometric and board-and-batten trim, and paneling.
  • Stair and loft railings, including horizontal cable railings and iron baluster updates.
  • Trim and millwork: crown molding, window cornices, casings, baseboards and wainscoting.
  • Kitchen island extensions and banquettes that add seating or storage to an existing kitchen. Full kitchen remodels are handled by our parent company, Home & Beyond Services.

Built for Florida humidity

Wood moves with humidity, and coastal homes see a lot of it. We choose stable materials such as cabinet-grade plywood and MDF for painted work, let materials acclimate before installation, and leave room for movement so doors keep closing and joints stay tight. In condos we plan around association rules for work hours, deliveries and noise.

How pricing works

Cost depends on size, materials, finish (painted or stained), hardware and how much of the work is custom-built versus assembled from cabinet boxes. You see a drawing and a clear price before we build anything.

Questions homeowners ask

Do you build custom cabinets, or install pre-made ones?

Both. Some projects are fully custom-built on site; others combine quality cabinet boxes with custom face frames, trim and panels. We recommend the approach that fits your design and budget.

Can you build around a TV and hide the wires?

Yes. Media walls are planned with the TV size, mounting height, outlets and cable paths marked before the wall is built. New circuits are handled by a licensed electrician.

Can you match existing trim or cabinets?

In most cases, yes. We match profiles, paint colors and stain as closely as the available materials allow and show you samples first.

Do built-ins need a permit?

Most cabinetry, shelving and trim work does not. Work that changes walls, electrical or plumbing can, and we tell you up front when it applies.
