Custom Stonework, Stone Veneer & Hardscaping

Stacked stone veneer, stone columns, accent walls, paver patios and walkways that add curb appeal and lasting outdoor space.

Stonework that changes how a home looks

Stone is one of the fastest ways to give a plain Florida stucco home real character. A stacked-stone entry, wrapped porch columns or a stone accent wall by the pool changes the first impression of a house. HBS Custom Renovation installs stone veneer and hardscaping for homes in Stuart, Jensen Beach, Hobe Sound and across the Treasure Coast, inside and out.

Stone and hardscape work we do

  • Stacked stone veneer on house fronts, entries, wainscots and garden walls.
  • Stone porch columns and column wraps that update a front porch.
  • Interior stone features such as fireplace surrounds and accent walls.
  • Paver patios, pool decks, walkways and driveways, including border and inlay details.
  • Garden walls, planters and seating walls that shape an outdoor living area.
  • Outdoor kitchen and bar cladding to match the rest of the house. See outdoor kitchens.

Natural stone, manufactured veneer and pavers

Natural stone veneer is cut from real stone and varies piece to piece. Manufactured stone veneer is lighter and more uniform and often costs less to install. Both need a proper base: on stucco and block that means the right lath, scratch coat and weep details so water does not get trapped behind the stone. Pavers need a compacted base and a plan for where rain goes, which matters a lot during Florida's summer storms. We help you choose the material and color in person, with samples next to your house.

Permits and planning

Most stone veneer and paver patios do not need a building permit, but taller retaining walls, work in the right-of-way such as a driveway apron, and anything structural can. HOA communities often require approval of materials and colors first. We tell you what applies before the work is scheduled.

Questions homeowners ask

Can stone veneer go over my existing stucco?

Often, yes, if the wall is sound. The surface is prepared with lath and a scratch coat so the stone bonds properly, and the bottom edge is detailed so water can drain out.

Pavers or concrete for a patio?

Pavers cost more than plain concrete but come in more colors and patterns, handle small ground movement without cracking, and can be lifted and reset for repairs. Concrete costs less and can be stamped or coated.

Do pavers need to be sealed?

Sealing is optional. It helps with color, stains and keeping joint sand in place, and needs to be redone every few years. We explain the trade-offs for your patio or driveway.

How long does a stone veneer project take?

A set of porch columns or an accent wall can take a few days; a full house front takes longer. Weather and material delivery are the biggest variables.
